The best part of Full Frontal with Samantha Bee isn’t just Bee’s rapid fire, exasperated delivery, the excellent writing, or hilarious graphics. It’s the way the show uses all of that stuff to distill issues that you’ve been mulling over for weeks into a 7-minute segment that makes you want to jump out of your seat and cheer. It’s everything you know is true, everything you believe, stated succinctly in a way you’d probably never be able to say yourself. So for those of us who have been uneasily watching the mounting hot takes about Harper’s “Shitty Media List” exposé, that Aziz Ansari date story, and more, last night’s segment was the reality check we desperately needed.

Dubbing the #MeToo backlash the “#YouTooLoud Movement,” Bee says everything we’ve wanted to scream from the rooftops. Like guess what: Nobody is putting rape and harassment and bad dates in one bucket.

“What many fail to understand is that it doesn’t have to be rape to ruin your life, and it doesn’t have to ruin your life to be worth speaking out about. Any kind of sexual harassment or coercion is unacceptable.”

CUE FUCKING STANDING OVATION.
