With Season 4 Uncertain, This Music Video Is The Closest Thing You'll Get To A New 'Rick and Morty' For A While
Rick and Morty’s third season came to an end in the fall of 2017, and with no hint as to when season four might drop. But fans of the show know full well it could legit be years between seasons. And so we slather ourselves in coveted McDonald’s Szechuan Sauce and hang on to any scrap about Cartoon Network’s addictive series. Today, we have reason to rejoice as Rick and Morty surfaced in a music video for the hip-hop duo Run the Jewels.
Run The Jewels will be a part of the upcoming Adult Swim Festival in Downtown Los Angeles, which will hit October 6 and 7th. Along with musical performances, the event promises comedy, exclusive merchandise, and “previews of your favorite shows.” Which means maybe we’ll have a teaser for Rick and Morty’s fourth season one year after the season three finale. Maybe. But there’s a wrinkle: Adult Swim hasn’t ordered the fourth season yet. At least, not according to Dan Harmon.
With Rick and Morty more popular than ever, it seems impossible to think Adult Swim is on the fence about renewing it. We can speculate that maybe this is a matter of contract disputes. But regardless, this is bad news for fans as it means there’s no sign of when season four might hit.
