'One Day At A Time' Has Been Saved, Will Return For Season 4

All the praying under votive candles with Rita Moreno’s face on them has paid off! One Day At A Time has been saved. Season four will air on Pop TV, the CBS-owned cable network where Schitt’s Creek played in the U.S.

Vulture reports Pop TV will premiere 13 episodes in the new season in 2020. The outlet notes this marks the first time a streaming series has made the leap to cable TV. But frankly, that was essential for One Day At A Time to be saved, as Netflix had a non-compete clause in the contract that barred the show’s producers from placing it at another streaming service, like—for instance—CBS All Access. However, as part of the deal, Pop TV will be allowed to air Netflix’s first three seasons ahead of One Day At A Time season four. And from there, CBS will have the right to run the new eps on their network later in 2020.
