Mary Cosby Body-Shames Heather Gay, Confirms She’s a Horrible Person (Again)

After losing Jen Shah to prison, Bravo had to scramble to make The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City interesting again. For some reason, that plan included inviting Mary Cosby of “You smell like hospital” fame back as a friend (not a full cast member).

So far, Cosby has contributed nothing but withering glares and unnecessarily rude comments. She has remained in the Sprinter van during every outing because she doesn’t like parks or snow, despite living in Utah. It really seems like she’s only there to wear the ugly designer outfits she so covets and then presumably throw them away as soon as filming is done.

I could have looked past the cult-y church vibes and the antisocial behavior, but then she went on Watch What Happens Live and body-shamed Heather Gay. In a segment where she and fellow guest Ziwe had to critique Housewives fashion moments, she saw a picture of Gay in a Gucci corset and said, “I’ve never seen a corset in a size 14,” eliciting wincing moans from Andy Cohen, Ziwe, and the studio audience.

Now, Mary has said and done some stupid sh** — this is the woman who married her step-grandfather and once called Jen Shah a “Mexican thug”— but this is low even for her. If casting her as a friend this season was Bravo’s way of testing her out before giving her back the Housewife title, this will hopefully be the thing that confirms she cannot be allowed on television ever, ever again. The woman is a lawsuit waiting to happen.
