Let's Talk 'RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars 3' Episode 5

It was an Andy Warhol celebration last night on RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars 3. Toasting the king of pop art, the queens had to face off in three challenges involving polaroids, on-brand soup cans, and a disco diva fantasies. For one queen, it was the comeback she’d been gagging for. But for another, it was a not-so-sweet sendoff.

***SPOILERS AHEAD***

Brooklyn queen Aja came to play in the mini-challenge when she took a pop princess perfect polaroid. (You can have my alliteration when you tear from my cold dead hands.) But when it came to the rest of the challenges, girl crashed and burned hard. Her Sugar Tits soup was mmm hmmm not good. And her disco look was an anachronistic mess that got her called out for being clueless on the runway.

But it was a great night for Trixie Mattel! The quirky country queen recovered her confidence and murdered the can challenge with her bonkers voice-over and sassy soup can. Then her runway look was perfectly Disco Barbie, so totally on brand. And she made it THAT DAY! But can someone explain to me the BeBe Zahara Benet love? Her soup can was basic. And I’ll give it to her that her runway look worked. But then she took all the credit for it, despite the fact that Aja was baby-stepping her through construction. AND THEN SHE SENT AJA HOME!

Also, am I the only one who felt the producers gifted Benet a major advantage doling out a Diana Ross song for her lip sync? I was totally on board for bringing the season one winner back. But I’m not getting the spell she seems to have over the judges. She’s gorgeous, absolutely. But what else?
