Joy of joys. The royal family is getting their own satirical animated series from creator Gary Janetti, known for having written several episodes of Family Guy. In an interesting move, WarnerMedia has greenlit a straight-to-series order for The Prince. The comedy series is based on Janetti’s parody Instagram account, which has over half a million followers, and will document the life of the royal family from the perspective of Prince William and Kate’s son, George.

The satire will debut on HBO Max, the new streaming service — one of many, MANY streaming services — that will feature a sh*tton of WarnerMedia properties, including the nearly-forgotten Game of Thrones and the ever-popular Friends.

Per THR, Gary Janetti will also voice Prince George, with Tom Hollander joining the voice cast as Princes Philip and Charles, Orlando Bloom as Prince Harry, Condola Rashad as Meghan Markle, Iwan Rheon as Prince William, and Lucy Punch as Kate Middleton.

Of course, The Prince is capitalizing on the popularity and non-stop discussion surrounding the royal family, who recently made headlines following Prince Harry and Meghan’s decision to “step back” from their royal duties and seek financial independence from the crown.

The Prince is just another addition to the growing repertoire of animations at HBO Max, which now includes a reimagining of Boondocks and Gremlins: The Secrets of the Mogwai. HBO Max is set to launch in May 2020, though there is no scheduled premiere date for The Prince. Stay tuned.
