'Doctor Who' Returns New Year's Day With Jodie Whittaker

Last year, Jodie Whittaker made history as the first woman to take on the iconic title role of the long-beloved sci-fi series Doctor Who. Next year, she’ll bring us all-new adventures with companion co-stars Tosin Cole, Mandip Gill, and Bradley Walsh. Now, with a new trailer, BBC America has revealed the premiere date for US audiences. Check out the trailer for Doctor Who Season 12.

The promo teases mysterious monsters, desolate terrains, “big, serious crisis,” and Whittaker rocking a tuxedo. “Fancy a trip in the box?” You’re d*mn right we do!

Doctor Who returns to BBC America New Year’s Day at 8PM.
