Luke Perry defined cool and caring as Dylan McKay on Beverly Hills 90210. But it was more than pose for the cameras. In the wake of his untimely death, friends and fans shared stories about what a warm and wonderful man he was. Over and over, it was said he brought joy wherever he went. And it seems he knew the effect he had on people, regarding the starstruck with a care and respect that was treasured. So, here’s an anecdote round-up of Luke Perry being the best, including my own.

I wanted to share my story of meeting #LukePerry years ago because I think of it often. He left a huge imprint on me, and today all I can think of was how kind he was and I am so sad for his family and friends right now. The world lost an incredible human today. pic.twitter.com/UkaOf3p4Zr

to my first premiere, which was for Jackie Chan's newest film at the time and then heading to the after-party, which I believe was at Planet Hollywood (it was massive back in the 90's). Sylvester Stalone was there (shakes hands like a fish), Wade Boggs was there

He had just come off 90210, and for those that don't know, that show was a FRENZY!!! People were obsessed, including me. However, I didn't want to be with Dylan McKay, I wanted to be him, so I could get with Brenda….but I digress. He had recognized me from Dollhouse and asked

He was my first real lesson in kindness and peer to peer generosity. He went out of his way to make sure that I was included. He didn't have to; he chose to and that will stay with me forever. Thank you, bud. Your kindness lives on. #RIPLukePerry pic.twitter.com/nCzk98pL2S

Y’all might know Luke Perry had some land here in Tennessee. Maybe you don’t know that during the flood of 2010, he was out there bringing people food, bottles of water, and shoes. Just a humble, decent dude. pic.twitter.com/BEefrMYfM2

The first time I met Luke Perry we talked about what kind of movie we wanted “Buffy” to be. I asked if he’d ever seen “Near Dark” and he gave me a look of HOW DARE YOU SIR and I knew we’d get along. Funny, committed, and always gracious. He shouldn’t be gone.
