The unveiling of fresh takes on old and new gods has been one of the highlights of American Gods, from Gillian Anderson’s Media to Orlando Jones’ Mr. Nancy. And while we’ve known that Crispin Glover would bring his particular brand of idiosyncratic menace to the Starz series as the mysterious villian Mr. World, we haven’t gotten a real taste of him until now. In this clip from Sunday’s new episode, Mr. World makes his grand entrance and introduces himself to Shadow and Mr. Wednesday — and a friendly how-do-you-do has never felt so icky.

Not much has been revealed about the character of Mr. World, but he appears to be the leader of the New Gods who are on a collision course with the Old Gods led by Mr. Wednesday. With his dark suit he’s the embodiment of every American conspiracy theory - the “men in black” made manifest. Though based on this clip with the light-up floor, he could stage a recreation of Michael Jackson’s “Billie Jean” video and I’d buy it. It wouldn’t even be the weirdest thing to happen on this show.
