Aidy Bryant’s back as Annie Easton for Season 2 of Hulu’s Shrill and things are finally looking up. Sort of. If the new trailer is any indication, Annie’s life just took a hard left turn and there’s no going back. She’s quit her job and is in the land of unpaid internships (and hey, we’ve all been there), but Annie isn’t letting that bring her down. Nope, not at all.
The critically acclaimed series seems to really be hitting its stride and Annie’s taking quite a few risks that are likely to land her in some embarrassing and hilarious situations. Regardless of whatever Season 2 throws her way, though, Annie is still rocking those fabulous dresses, so not everything is bad. Ryan meeting her parents can’t possibly go that terribly, right? At one point, Annie says that she’s “not off the rails, I’m in the rails,” so yes, things are going swimmingly.
Shrill Season 1 debuted on Hulu last year and caught the eye of fans and critics alike. It’s funny, smart, and includes genuine female friendships and body positivity. Plus, Aidy Bryant is just a joy to watch and Season 2 looks like it’s really upping its game while keeping in line with what made Season 1 so good.

Shrill also stars Lolly Adefope, Luka Jones, John Cameron Mitchell, Julia Sweeney, Dana Millican, and Patti Harrison. Season 2 is available to stream on Friday, January 24 on Hulu.
