If you subscribe to Peacock, you’ve likely recently seen this commercial:

…And if you’re one of the ten people (my best guess) who don’t subscribe to Peacock almost exclusively for Bravo reality shows, then you were probably a little confused. Luckily, knowing stuff about reality TV is my job. So allow me to explain.
The woman in the commercial is Lisa Barlow of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City. Lisa has been a star of the show since day one, and her look and essence have remained unchanged—namely, her long, sleek, straight brown hair and her love of fast food. She’s so obsessive about her appearance that she won’t even wear a costume for a themed party or do a little light drag for the fun of it (breakdowns have ensued on both fronts), and she’s so devoted to French fries and drinking fountain Diet Coke out of a paper cup at all hours of the day that she has also appeared in several Wendy’s ads.
@bravotv Lisa’s newest clients? Shep and Austen. Her solution: @Wendy’s breakfast! #wendys_ad ♬ original sound - Bravo
If Wendy’s is her partner in unhealthy eating, hair-care brand Kérastase is her partner in pin-straight hair. The recent Peacock commercial is not her first collaboration with the brand…

…But her use of their products went viral during an episode of RHOSLC this season when Angie Katsanevas told Britani Bateman that she had “high body count hair,” meaning, basically, slutty…
…and Lisa comforted the distraught Britani by saying, “Don’t let her hurt your feelings…but you know what? You do need Kérastase Thermatique.” To translate: “That was mean and uncalled for, but your hair is looking kind of frizzy,” because the product(s) she’s referencing—actually called Kérastase Thermique—is a range of heat-styling protectants, for when you’re blow drying and curling and straightening your hair but don’t want it to look fried. Which Britani’s did…does.
@adrianaserret Her mind 😭😭😭😭😭 #fyp #rhoslc #bravotv ♬ Messy - Lola Young
Britani Bateman has been going a little viral herself for posting videos of her singing in various public locations.
@britanibateman Not even sitting in coach can get me down today. I get to see my daughter!! #lifeisgood #rhoslc #bravotv ♬ original sound - britanibateman
She remained true to that theme in this video of her unboxing a PR package sent to her by Kérastase in response to Lisa’s recommendation.
@britanibateman Someone stole my @Kérastase partnership … not naming names 😉 #kerastase #newyearsgift #shinyhair #rhoslc #lisabarlow #bravotv #bravo #wicked #notthatgirl @the Real Housewives of SLC @RHOSLCBRAVO @Bravo @LISA BARLOW @hayu @Hayu @Peacock @Cynthia Erivo ♬ original sound - britanibateman
I doubt that’s how you use the products, but at least she has a sense of humor.
So, that explains the commercial. But here’s what I want you to know: I watch a lot of reality TV, and I can confidently say that Lisa Barlow is one of the single most bonkers people ever to grace the genre (Britani’s not great either, but in her case, it’s more pathetic than evil). This is the same woman who, when accused of contacting tabloids with negative information about Whitney Rose, whipped out her phone to call her private security person to investigate the claims, saying she would “go the distance” to clear her name.
@bravotv Replying to @Jayden Naomi Brb adding "go the distance" into our vocabulary. Stream the latest episode of #RHOSLC on @Peacock! #LisaBarlow #RealHousewivesOfSaltLakeCity ♬ Go The Distance from RHOSLC - Bravo
And lest we forget her famous hot-mic moment from seasons ago when she called Meredith Marks a “piece of shit garbage whore” who’d “f*cked half of New York.”
She makes great TV, but should we be giving Lisa Barlow this much power?
