We all know about the, um, snafu a majority of Marvel fans experienced while attempting to buy advance tickets to see Avengers: Endgame on April 26 — or the early screenings available. While that was frustrating for many people, most theaters still had plenty of tickets for the multitudes of showings on their screens.
I got my ticket for the morning of April 26 no problem earlier today, but if I hadn’t? I would just wait until I could get into a theater to see the flick. Avoiding spoilers would be tricky, but I would risk it because it’s just a movie at the end of the day. Imagine my surprise when I saw people that purchased coveted Thursday night and opening night tickets decided to re-sell them like Endgame is a one night only original cast performance of Hamilton.
People, do I have to tell you how much of a pile of skag turds you are for scalping tickets to a movie that will be in wide release in theaters for several weeks before it becomes available to watch an unlimited amount of times from your own home? How is it that a large enough amount of people decided this was a good plan to make money that I’m now writing about it? Maybe get a hobby?
If you have enough money — or don’t and buy these tickets anyway — then I would like to send you the name of several non-profits and charities that would be more deserving of the 80 or so extra dollars for a movie ticket. If you are a person paying the asking price of $1,000 a ticket, I would like to introduce you to the back of my hand because what are you even doing with your life?
There is nothing happening in that first showing of Endgame that won’t be there a week or a month later. I understand fandom and buying things that you perhaps shouldn’t, but movie tickets that I can get from the local theater for $10 (not an exaggeration) are not one of those things I’m willing to pay more for.
Now, let’s all just calm down and use the tickets we bought to actually see Endgame. Until then, be normal and freak out about Loki’s appearance on the IMAX poster while finishing your Ant-Man and Thanos’s anus fan-fic, okay?
