Serial host and chief investigator Sarah Koenig was welcomed on The Colbert Report last night. And she dropped some seriously shocking news: the final episode of Serial’s first season will air December 18th. The same day as the last show of The Colbert Report.

This means today’s is Serial’s second to last episode. This means we’ll not have an episode covering the upcoming appeal hearing of Adnan Syed. This means the most popular podcast in the world is fast approaching its finale. And I—for one—and not ready.

But for now, Stephen Colbert asks Koenig the tough questions like, “Did you always want to do true crime reporting that people listen to on a treadmill?…Do you think a guy named Adnan Syed can get a fairer trial after 9/11?” and “Will that girl ever learn to pronounce Mail Chimp?”
