We’ve admittedly been a bit failing in our coverage of the upcoming Doctor Who spinoff, Class created and showran by YA author Patrick Ness. Part of that is due to not a lot of info being out, and part of it is because we’re in such deep withdrawal for Doctor Who this year that we’ve just tried not to think about it. Still, Ness has confirmed a question that is on the mind of everyone who has had any interest in this show, reportedly set at the Coal Hill school where the entire series began and where most recently Clara Oswald taught. Will The Doctor make an appearance?

Exciting news for fans of the time-traveling, face-changing Gallifreyan who are desperate to see him again. The ‘of course’ nature of the tweet aside, while the Doctor did appear on the Sarah Jane Adventures, he didn’t ever appear on Torchwood, unless you count the faint TARDIS noise in the background or Peter Capaldi’s run as John Frobisher during Torchwood’s Children of Earth miniseries.

We also learned today that Class will premiere on BBC Three in the UK on October 22nd, no confirmation yet if that will be the case for BBC America too.

And insert inevitable and irrelevant comment about how much Moffat sucks in 3… 2… 1..
