In a rare moment of genius and/or luck, we’ve somehow managed to schedule for ourselves not one, but two shows that are wholly the vision of their strange creators — to the point that one makes the other look normal (ish).
Taking up the mantle of “What the hell am I watching?”, 2024 edition: the new HBO show from Julio Torres, Fantasmas! Unsurprisingly, a full two out of three Podjiba hosts recommend it, and you’ll probably guess which one does not!
Meanwhile, our rewatch of 2017’s champion (and now show that doesn’t look nearly as weird in retrospect), Twin Peaks: The Return, hit episodes three and four this week, which means we’ve reached the Dougie section, which, to everyone’s surprise, Dustin seems to love!
Elsewhere, we did discuss a number of new shows (HBO’s Ren Faire, Hulu’s Clipped) and semi-regular hits (AMC’s Interview With The Vampire, Doctor Who), but a lot of our allotted time this week was spent on last week’s big release: the new Star Wars show The Acolyte, which (in an even bigger upset, perhaps), even has Dustin on board!
