Will Trent is back for Season 3 next week and scruffy, disheveled Will is doing something for me. Everyone’s back in the pool for the new season and they’ve added Gina Rodriguez (RIP Not Dead Yet, we hardly knew ye) to the cast as a prosecutor. Is she a love interest for Will assuming Angie wants nothing to do with him after, you know, he arrested her at the end of last season? I hope they don’t blow her up like they did the last one.
New episodes begin airing with a two-part season premiere next Tuesday on ABC.
If Ice Cube’s Friday can get three movies and an animated series (that I wasn’t aware of until I typed that sentence), we should give Keke Palmer and Sza’s One Of Them Days a fair shot at the box office. Even though this trailer dropped in October and no one has been talking about it.
Produced by Issa Rae and written by Insecure writer Syreeta Singleton, One Of Them Days also stars Maude Apatow, Janelle James, Lil Rel Howery, Katt Williams, and Keyla Monterroso Mejia (Freeridge).
One Of Them Days opens in theaters on January 17th.
All I’ve ever known about William Tell is that he was good with a bow and arrow. He was Swiss and is a folk hero of the Austrian occupation of the 14th century. Look at me, being all educational with my trailers in the new year. Anyway, someone cast Claes Bang as Tell in an upcoming movie, which is in no way fueling my interest in this. Nope. Not at all.
William Tell premieres in British cinemas on January 17th. Sorry, Americans.
For your first bit of lagniappe of 2025, I regret to inform you that 2018’s Den of Thieves is getting a sequel. Gerard Butler aside, I don’t remember anything about the original. And this one looks like a Fast and Furious knockoff. It opens on January 10th. I’d rather have the William Tell movie.
