Why We Should All Be Genuinely Sad For Trump Supporters

There’s a lot to dislike about Trump supporters. They’ve thrust upon the rest of the nation a man so wildly unfit for any office he should be permanently forced to work from home. Which would be a relief to all of his female coworkers. And the supporters themselves aren’t any better. Racist. Aggressively sexist. Violent. Sexist again. And then some more racist. There’s not a lot to like here.

But we should take at least one moment to recognize the sorrow and desperation in which a large number of Trump supporters live. Their lives are lived in joyless, small, bitter little worlds. For most of them won’t even watch the video below, and those who do won’t like it. They’ll watch Stephen Colbert interviewing President Obama, and they won’t even like it.

But really, Obama should do stand-up. After eight years, I’m guessing he’s got a super tight five.
