First off, Sam Bee, that outfit is so amazing I don’t even mind you stealing my House Elf joke. Secondly, remember the other day when Dustin covered Morning Joe talking about Trump’s raging personality disorder? Specifically about how Trump’s actions cut against his own self interest, and that means that either he’s incredibly stupid or incredibly crazy, but it’s probably both? I’m starting to feel that way about Jeff Sessions, except swap “racist” for “stupid” and “evil” for “crazy.”

Just to make it 100-percent clear, I’m saying Attorney General Jeff Sessions is a racist, evil person.

For starters, let’s look at the War on Drugs he’s relaunching. As the Full Frontal segment already pointed out, not only is the War on Drugs wildly ineffective, but it’s wildly unpopular. Which means that when presented with scientific evidence, as well as the changing opinion of the people he was selected to serve (including the people of his home state of Alabama), Sessions insists that the only way to address drug abuse issues is with harsh punishment of any and all drug offenses, even those as small as personal cannabis use.

So you know, fuck Jeff Sessions.

I don’t like to label people as “evil” or “good” because that feels reductive, but “continuing to engage in actions which are harmful to others despite evidence that your desired outcome is unlikely” seems like a pretty accurate definition of what evil is. And Sessions is doing evil. People’s lives are being ruined either because they have a substance abuse issue, have limited economic avenues because of nationwide infrastructure neglect and wage depression, or for committing the crime of wanting to get stoned. Jeff Sessions supports that. Therefore once again, fuck Jeff Sessions.

“But, Emily,” you might be arguing to yourself because by the time you read this, I’ll be driving to class, “maybe Sessions just truly believes drugs are bad. Maybe marijuana killed his friend Taylor Swift.” Nope, it’s because he’s racist.

To be sure, there’s a lot of mixing and overlap when it comes to racism and evil. Racism itself is evil, racist people are usually committing some form of evilness, and, most importantly, racism gives people license to commit evil acts. See, Sessions doesn’t care that people’s lives are ruined by an unsuccessful war on drugs in part because he thinks drugs are bad, and no amount of “facts” or “reasoning” is going to change that. But what allows him to not be affected by the lives that are ruined is that those lives are disproportionately Black or Latino. And Jeff Sessions is a racist. (See also: here, here, here and here.)

And how exactly has the racist War on Drugs propagated by Kreacher the House Elf actually affected different racial groups? Let’s see.

Yep. Fuck Jeff Sessions.
