'Full Frontal' Reminds Us That Puerto Rico Is Still In Serious Trouble
As always, you should watch all of last night’s Full Frontal, especially the segment on the Federalist Society (side note: strange that Constitutional Originalists are super into exactly what the Founders intended except for the part where they kept shouting “WE DON’T REALLY KNOW WHAT WE’RE DOING. FEEL FREE TO CHANGE THIS”). But I felt like the brevity of this intro really hammered home and highlighted the importance. Mainly: Puerto Rico is fucked.
Of course, Puerto Rico was already in some pretty serious trouble before the hurricane. But, shockingly, having been systematically deprived of fair treatment by their government for decades hasn’t been great for Puerto Rico’s economy or infrastructure. And they’ve been hit hardest while having an incompetent joke of a leader in office.
Puerto Rico is experiencing a humanitarian crisis right now, and no one’s really paying attention. That sucks. But the government responsible for addressing that is our government. Call your representatives, ask them to do something. Donate. Post to social media asking others to do the same. If nothing else, do it because of how much it’ll piss Trump off that no one cares about his shitty tax plan.
