Season three of Broad City has been packed with New York City shenanigans, Yas Kween moments, and enviable femmeship. (Female friendship. Does that play?) Last night’s ep “Co-Op” not only had Abbi and Ilana switiching personas to get the best organic veggies the Big Apple can provide, but also they slid in a subtle joke about the Cosby scandal.
You might remember Hannibal Burress (who plays Illana Glazer’s onscreen fuck buddy Lincoln) was the one who kicked off the recent wave of Cosby outrage during a stand-up show. This was the tipping point in the public paying attention to what numerous women had been saying for decades. Which is insane when you think about it for more than a moment.
Burress and Glazer pointed out this absurdity last night during a conversation between their characters, where Illana tells Lincoln she wants to trick his most recent conquest into a threeway.
Lincoln: People really shouldn’t trick other people into having sex.
Ilana: Whoa! I’ve heard so many women say that, but when you say it, I really hear it.
