Sunday nights are already sad because it means it’s the end of the weekend, and there’s work or school or just, ugh, real-life nonsense to get back to first thing on Monday morning. Not only that, but you already feel crap because there’s ALL the TV that you feel like you have to watch to keep up with the rest of the Internet (especially with the return of The Walking Dead this Sunday). Here’s a guide on the correct order to watch your favorite Sunday night shows, when football doesn’t muck up the schedules, that is.
1. Bob’s Burgers, on Fox
The best of the animated options, begin the long night of couch potato-ing right.
2. The Good Wife, on CBS
THIS SHOW IS SO GOOD YOU HAVE TO WATCH IT RIGHT AWAY. Dramatic lawyer tension and beautiful people, what else could be better?
3. Homeland, on Showtime
Alicia Florrick preps you just right for Carrie Mathison and all of the ugly crying.
4. Revenge, on ABC
Since you’re all tense from two hours of dramatic shows, switch to Emily’s neverending quest for something extremely ridiculous and soap opera-ish.
5. Boardwalk Empire, on HBO
Now it’s time for a lot of hard drinks along the beach.
6. The Simpsons, on Fox
Let the animated show serve as a palate cleanser.
7. The Walking Dead, on AMC
After that quick break, it’s time for zombies and guts and Coral.
8. Once Upon a Time, on ABC
Switch gears for something bubbly and light and cold as hell.
9. Mulaney, on Fox
Force yourself to watch the show. That first episode might’ve been horrible, but it’s him, so, yeah.
10. Brooklyn Nine-Nine, on Fox
Top off your 8 hours of TV with a guaranteed to be good show. End your Sunday television block on a good note.
