What If 'Step Brothers' Was Directed By 'The Lighthouse's Robert Eggers?

Last fall, writer/director Robert Eggers followed up his critically heralded The Witch with a black-and-white drama about manhood, frenemies, and mermaids with The Lighthouse. The film, which starred Robert Pattinson and Willem Dafoe as warring lighthouse keepers, won praise for its macabre humor, gritty look, and powerful performances. Naturally, it reminded Esquire video editor Dom Nero of the Will Ferrell/John C. Reilly comedy Step Brothers. So he made a new trailer for the 2008 hit.

Here’s Nero’s video, which re-imagines Step Brothers as an Eggers offering.
