Charlize Theron is Playing Megyn Kelly and the Resemblance is F**king Chilling

So, I can’t necessarily say I’m excited for this upcoming Fox News movie that looks at the downfall of Roger Ailes. It’s certainly a fascinating and depressingly prescient topic, but it’s one of those stories where you just think ‘oh dear lord, is this what we really want to watch now?’ Still, Jay Roach knows his way around a contemporary drama about American politics and how to do that without romanticizing or sympathizing with the worst people in the world. It also helps that the movie, allegedly titled Fair and Balanced, has a killer cast: Nicole Kidman as Gretchen Carlson! John Lithgow as Roger Ailes! Allison Janney! Kate McKinnon! Malcolm McDowell as Rupert Murdoch! And, of course, Charlize Theron as Megyn Kelly.

Charlize as Megyn seems too kind to Megyn, who is probably still convinced this movie will portray her as the feminist hero of Fox News. But Theron is brilliant at playing abrasive and frequently repulsive women who radiate an endless feeling of ‘get the fuck away from me.’ She seems right for Kelly’s iciness and calculating demeanor.

She’s also fucking spot on just in terms of looks, as on-set photographs revealed.
