Earlier this year, Lupita Nyong’o wrecked us in the mind-bending, heartbreaking horror-thriller Us. Next up, she’ll bring us to the brink of the zombie apocalypse with a smile and a song in Little Monsters.
Written and directed by Abe Forsythe, Little Monsters is a horror comedy that stars Nyong’o as a teacher, guiding her young students through a very deadly field trip. When zombies overrun an Australian petting zoo, it’s up to Miss Caroline (Nyong’o), kids show host Teddy McGiggle (Josh Gad), and a deadbeat uncle called Dave (Alexander England) to save these little ankle-biters from getting their ankles gnawed off by the ravenous undead!
You can get a taste for this zombie comedy’s twisted sense of humor from this new clip, in which Miss Caroline and Dave use a game to guide the children to safety.
Warning: Dustin and I saw this at SXSW, and can assure you it’s a wild ride.
Little Monsters is coming to Fantasia next month. No US theatrical release has yet been announced.
