Channing Tatum’s a man not afraid of bold choices. He’ll tell the story of his past as an exotic dancer in Magic Mike, then give it all a salaciously silly send-up with Magic Mike XXL. He’ll play a man-dog (his own best friend) in the Wachowski sisters’ wildly original sci-fi epic Jupiter Ascending. And he’ll don a dress and engage in kinky sex to shimmy alongside P!nk in “Beautiful Trauma.” Now, he’s bringing his warm verve to a family-friendly charmer that has him playing a bigfoot with a shocking discovery.
Check out the trailer for Smallfoot:
Smallfoot is helmed by Over The Hedge director Karey Kirkpatrick, and penned in part by John Requa and Glenn Ficarra, the pair behind the outrageous R-rated true-crime comedy I Love You Phillip Morris. Following Migo’s (Tatum) quest to prove the existence of the elusive smallfoot, this winsome animated feature turns the typical bigfoot story on its head. As you may have guessed from a movie that boasts James Corden, Zendaya, and Common, Smallfoot will offer original new music alongside its star-studded cast that also includes LeBron James, Gina Rodriguez, Yara Shahidi, and Danny DeVito.
It looks silly, sweet, and fun. So, we’ll bee on the lookout out for Smallfoot, which opens September 28, 2018.
