Real Talk: 'Batman V Superman' Will Never Be As Good As This 'Always Sunny' Mash-Up Trailer
I get it. There’s a massive audience out there who loves them some gritty, angry as fuck superhero movies. They made every Dark Knight movie a gargantuan success, and followed suit for Man of Steel.
But for me, this brand of growly caped crusader is less fun than say the Batmans of Burton or the Spider-Mans of Raimi, superheroes who knew that what they were doing—with the costumes and what not—was a wee bit absurd. The embracing of that absurdity was part of the fun. And for this reason, I love this mash-up trailer for Batman V Superman: Donna Justice. Possibly beyond reason.
H/T The Mary Sue
It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia brings that dash of character to this trailer that I so crave. I suspect there’ll be zero lightness, levity or humor in Zack Snyder’s later super earnest superhero movie. But when you see it in theaters, if you hear someone cackling anytime “day” or “night” is mentioned, know it’s me, imagining Charlie and Dennis belting out these songs with beer-fueled bravado.
Kristy Puchko wished she loved anything as much as Charlie loves huffing paint.
