You're Killing Me, Smalls! 'The Sandlot' Star Surprises A Flummoxed Fan

Watching season two of GLOW, you might have felt that itch of “I know that guy,” when you spied Cupcake, the fanboy who devotedly bakes for Britannica. That Guy is character-actor Patrick Renna, who’s appeared on E.R., X-Files and Boy Meets World, but who is definitely best-known as Hamilton ‘Ham’ Porter, the wisecracking ginger from the ’90s kid classic The Sandlot. While that movie was packed with colorful characters, silliness, and hijinks, Renna stole our hearts and the show with one line:

Since then, “You’re killing me, Smalls,” has taken on a life of its own, becoming the perfect quote to express exasperation, to gif, to meme, to wear on a t-shirt. Which brings us to one Sandlot fan who—well—is killing me, Smalls.
