Tina Fey And Amy Schumer Make Out, We're Not Sure Who We're More Jealous Of

Last night, Amy Schumer won a Peabody Award for her fearlessly feminist brand of satire on Inside Amy Schumer. But that’s not even be the coolest thing that happened to her, because Tina Fey then Madonna-ed her. (Yes, “Madonna” is a verb now.)

“I really wanted to…in a Madonna kind of way try to like feed off of her youth and maybe suck her soul out in a very awkward, staged lesbian kiss,” Fey told the audience at the Peabody Awards last night (via THR). “But when I pitched that idea to Amy’s camp, they came back with such an immediate yes that it kind of grossed me out.”

Grossed out or not, it happened with Schumer’s head writer Jessi Klein looking on. (You might remember the very pregnant Klein from a recent in-show interview where she called the founder of Ashley Madison a demon. If you enjoyed that, check out this kick-ass interview.) But this lip-lock essentially passed the funny feminist torch to Schumer was just the wacky end to Fey’s speech. She also declared:

“Many people will tell you that you can never ever joke about rape but it is all about context and point of view, and Amy and the Inside Amy Schumer show’s brilliant sketch about sexual abuse in the military as filtered through violent, combat videogames was inarguably funny and so, so rapey.”

Lest you forget:

Then Fey stated the obvious: “Amy Schumer is killing it, as the agents like to say. Usually they are lying. But in this case it is true. Amy is killing it. She is the biggest deal in comedy right now.”

We reached out to Mother Meryl for her thoughts:

After their seriously enviable snog, Schumer gave a heartfelt acceptance speech that’s sure to rile the MRAs:

“We thought we were making this secret feminist show and people weren’t going to catch on what we were doing, and they caught on very quickly and we’re so glad that they did. We just wanted to make a show that would make people laugh and feel better and we really feel like we’re doing that, so thank you so much for this award.”

No, Amy. Thank you for all this. And this:

Ugh. When will her Trainwreck get here already. (July 17th.)

Kristy Puchko’s favorite Inside Amy Schumer sketch is hands down this one.
