Taylor Swift Reveals ‘1989’ Vault Track Titles (Most of Them)

Taylor Swift teamed up with Google to challenge her fans to solve 89 Wordle-esque puzzles to reveal the titles of the “from the vault” tracks on the upcoming re-release of her album 1989. Swifties were expected to solve the puzzles 33 million times, which they accomplished in less than 24 hours.

The challenge complete, Google posted a video featuring Swift congratulating her dedicated fans and revealing four track titles: “Is It Over Now?,” “Now That We Don’t Talk,” “Say Don’t Go,” and “Suburban Legends.”

But that’s not all of the vault tracks. She followed up the unveiling with her own post, revealing the back cover art of the four special edition versions of the album, which included the track titles. Included there but missing from the Google post was a fifth vault track, “Slut!”

The fact that “Slut!” wasn’t included in the Google reveal probably has more to do with Google than with Swift herself, but indulge me in some magical thinking. I think I can speak for most Swifties here—or maybe just the elder ones—in saying that we’ve been waiting for our girl to write a song called “Slut!” “Slut!” is what the haters have always wanted to call Taylor Swift but stopped short of. Swift has a track record of hiding her most revealing, lyrically vulnerable songs within vault tracks and special editions, songs like the ten-minute version of “All Too Well” on Red (Taylor’s Version) and “Would’ve, Could’ve, Should’ve” on Midnights (3am Edition). I have a feeling that “Slut!” is going to be another one of those.

1989 (Taylor’s Version) comes out October 27th.
