It all started with the video of Julia Roberts embracing Travis Kelce in the stands of The Eras Tour in Dublin. She got really touchy-feely, and the Swifties got their collective panties in a collective bunch.
Nikki Glaser was at that show with her parents, Julie and Edward, and she posted a video of her mom reacting to the video of Roberts and Kelce, in which Julie called Roberts “gross.” That of course made headlines because the internet is dead. Glaser then posted another video of her parents reacting to the headlines about their supposed diss. Julie said, “I’m gonna kill somebody,” in response, while Edward said they misquoted him and didn’t add what he thought was his best line, “She’s used to people acquiescing to whatever she wants,” referring to Roberts, adding, “I’ll acquiesce to whatever she wants.” (Indeed, a very good line.) Julie then “retracted” the word “gross,” saying instead that she really meant to say “weird,” and called Roberts a “Good actress” but “a terrible flirt.”
That video made headlines as an official “apology” on the part of the Glasers and everyone had a good laugh about that too. Nikki then posted another video of her mom singing “My reputation’s never been worse,” explaining that she and Roberts have put the drama behind them.
“She doesn’t know you exist,” Nikki remarked.
“She doesn’t know I exist, but in case she did, I want her to know, ‘I love you Julia,’” Julie replied.
This is exactly the kind of thing my mom would get in trouble for if she were day drinking with me in Ireland, so I love it. Too bad Julia Roberts will never know about any of it, as I’m not sure Julia Roberts has ever been on the internet.
