We've Got A Lot of Feelings About Lin-Manuel Miranda's New Hair Cut
Last we heard from everyone’s favorite musical composer (that’s right. Take a seat, Andrew Lloyd Webber), he was breaking our hearts at the Tony’s, dashing our hopes on Broadway, and busting our pants wide open right here on Pajiba. But what’s he been up to since then? Being the best. Specifically being the best by:
Doing A Charity Song With J.Lo For The Orlando Shooting Victims
From Broadway World:
All proceeds from the song will go to the Hispanic Federation’s Proyecto Somos Orlando to benefit the victims of the Pulse nightclub shooting. Lopez, Miranda and Epic Records are proudly donating 100% of their proceeds (at least ninety-one cents) from each U.S. download sale of the single on iTunes from July 8, 2016 to October 5, 2016. (Song link:http://smarturl.it/LMTWGR (exclusively on U.S. iTunes))
Proyecto Somos Orlando will provide bilingual culturally-competent social services to impacted families and the broader community. Needed services include case management, crisis intervention, grief counseling, mental health services, legal assistance and educational programs. It will be housed in the same facility as Hispanic Family Counseling (HFC), building on their culturally competent mental health and expanding services, all to be provided under one roof in the heart of the Hispanic community.
Fuck yes. And the video gives us what might be a first glimpse of Miranda after:
Getting His Haircut
Yeah, I know. Complimenting someone for getting his goddamn hair cut sounds like maybe we’ve taken this LMM love overboard. But this isn’t any haircut. This is the first post Hamilton haircut, and the final severing (punintentional) of his ties to the role. What does his hair tell us about him? His future roles? Can he rock it as hard without his locks? If by “rock it” you mean sing Disney songs, then clearly yes because:
Rocking Some Disney Standards With The Rock
Miranda’s been tapped to do the music for Disney’s upcoming Moana. And since at least one person at Disney is a goddamn genius, they let him take over their Instagram account for a day. Meaning we get to see Miranda’s takes on Aladdin:
The Little Mermaid:
Some Andy Serkis level Hunchback of Notre Dame:
And the most appropriate live action rendition of “Gaston” anyone will ever see:
Actors playing Gaston and LeFou in the upcoming Beauty and the Beast? You’re fired now. We’ve clearly made a huge mistake.
