Sebastian Stan Bets Donald Trump Has Seen 'The Apprentice' '100 F***ing Times'

Sebastian Stan is on the cover of Vanity Fair to promote the latest Marvel film, Thunderbolts, and also to look as foxy as hell. It’s a solid piece. He talks about growing up in Romania, being Bucky Barnes, and landing his first Oscar nomination this year for playing Donald Trump. The Apprentice offered an insight into how a real estate heir with daddy issues became the Cheeto-shaded fascist he is today. Spoiler: it’s mostly Roy Cohn’s fault.

Stan got some career-best reviews for his performance, although I personally think he should have gotten his Oscar nomination for A Different Man. Still, you can see why his industry contemporaries sided with the Trump movie. They love biopics, they love easy political potshots, and I’m sure a ton of them were curious to see what the President would do. Largely, however, Trump has kept his mouth shut about The Apprentice, He did send out a Truth Social message calling it ‘a cheap, defamatory, and politically disgusting hatchet job.’ This is probably a response to the scene where Trump is depicted raping his first wife Ivana (an accusation she made then denied several years later.)

This is a vengeful, petty, little man so you can imagine that Stan might have been concerned about retribution from this terrifyingly powerful chump. As he told Vanity Fair before the Oscars ceremony, he was trying not to worry about such possibilities. He didn’t think it would happen anyway, unless ‘I don’t know, maybe if I win the Oscar, which is like 0.0000 percent.’

When asked if he thought Trump had seen the movie, he said, ‘I would put money down he’s seen it 100 f*cking times, of course, because he’s a narcissist. And I bet you there’s certain things he likes about it.’ When asked what, Stan said, ‘How he looked.’ Hot take: Sebastian Stan thinks he’s hotter than Trump.

I can’t see Donny not watching a movie about himself, although I feel like he’d be screaming about it non-stop had he done so. It’s a movie that portrays him as a soulless creep with no friends who rapes his wife and gets tons of cosmetic work done. Maybe there’s a sliver of sense in his brain that knows not to Streisand Effect The Apprentice into a wider audience. That or he’s entirely forgotten he’s seen it since that also feels like a depressing possibility regarding his mental capabilities.

It was a good move for Stan’s career, at least. He’s finally an Oscar nominee and has entered his goblin-esque character actor era with flair. He just has to do like 17 more Marvel movies before that.
