It’s been a few months since The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City Season 4 ended, but, for a while there, I was completely and utterly obsessed with Monica Garcia, her unmasking as Instagram gossip troll Reality Von Tease, and Heather Gay’s now-historic “Receipts! Proof! Timeline! Screenshots! F*cking everything!” Unfortunately, after an impressive rookie season, Monica flopped hard at the reunion and was fired shortly thereafter.
While Monica may be off the show, she somehow continues to exist on Planet Earth. Weird. On yesterday’s episode of Nick Viall’s podcast, The Viall Files, the former Housewife made a big announcement: she’s seven weeks pregnant! It’s surprising news, cuz, as far as us Housewives fans knew, Monica was single. She also has four other kids: Bri, 18, Jaidyn, 13, West, 7, and Kendall, 6, with ex-husband Mike Fowler (that’s the guy she cheated on with his sister’s husband [so, his brother-in-law]).
Monica, 39, tells Nick that the pregnancy is a surprise to her as well, via PEOPLE:
“I literally just found out,” Garcia says. “I have not told one f——— person except for my best friend. I literally went into urgent care for something totally unrelated that I thought was wrong,” Garcia recalls. “And the doctor came in and was like, ‘You’re pregnant.’”Later in the conversation, Garcia remembered finding out the news, saying that she was “on the urgent care floor, bawling my eyes out. Because I’m like, ‘I’m 39!’ Like, there’s no way. I’m on birth control. By all means, I should not be pregnant.”
The baby’s father is Monica’s boyfriend, a 29-year-old fellow ex-Mormon she met while filming RHOSLC. She says they’re “both in shock, but he has been incredible.” After the podcast went live, Monica posted an Instagram Reel about her pregnancy. For whatever reason, she filmed herself taking seven pregnancy tests and holding them up as if to say, “See? I’m not lying!” Hey, our girl loves her unnecessary, drama-queen stunts (that reunion Burn Book springs to mind).
