Olivia Colman is once again proving herself to be of the people. Earlier this month she was refreshingly honest about her botox use (she’s had “tons”) and now she’s being refreshingly honest about gender pay disparity in Hollywood. She shared her feelings during a recent appearance on The Amanpour Hour:

“Don’t get me started on the pay disparity, but male actors get paid more because they used to say they drew in the audiences. And actually, that hasn’t been true for decades but they still like to use that as a reason to not pay women as much as their male counterparts.”

Seriously, when was the last time that was true of a male actor? Is Tom Cruise still making movies? Is he drawing in the audiences? Because I don’t know about you, but I’m being drawn in by (scrolls through mental Rolodex of recent movies I’ve paid to see in theaters) women. Women like Olivia Colman, for example.

“I’m very aware that if I was Oliver Colman, I’d be earning a f**k of a lot more than I am. I know of one pay disparity, which is a 12,000 percent difference,” she added. What was it, Olivia?! Spill the tea!

This now offers a great excuse for me to share with you another lovely recent Olivia moment that I’d previously had no good reason to share with you. She was asked in another interview about her favorite swear word, and, well, I’ll let her tell you:

Goddesses bless that woman is all I can say. Both of these interviews were part of the press tour for her new film Wicked Little Letters, out March 29th in the US.
