Kyle Richards Says She Initiated Separation From Husband Mauricio Umansky

“Was this a mutual decision or was one of you the driving force behind the separation?” Andy Cohen asked Kyle Richards of her recent separation from her husband of 27 years, Mauricio Umansky, on last night’s Watch What Happens Live.

“It originated from me,” she answered.

“What is your current living situation like with Mauricio? Are you still living under the same roof?” Andy asked.

“We are,” Kyle answered. “I’m in a different room.”

“Let’s talk about all the rumors surrounding your friendship with Morgan Wade. What can you tell us?” Andy asked.

“Well, I can tell you that she is absolutely one of my best, best friends in the world,” she said, gesturing to her fellow guest, Teddi Mellencamp, who then explained that she met Wade at the same time as Kyle. They described a group chat between the three of them about waking up early and working out.

As for the rumors of her and Wade being romantically involved, she said, “If she didn’t have all of those tattoos, people would not say that,” referring to the speculation about the recent tattoos she’s gotten herself, which were highlighted in the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills premiere earlier in the night when Mauricio didn’t know how many she had and said he didn’t want her getting any more. Kyle said the fact that her husband didn’t know about her tattoos and didn’t like them was “emblematic” of where they were in their marriage at the time.

“I was like, ‘Oooh, too bad you said that on camera,’” she said.

When Andy asked her about her reaction to recent pictures of Mauricio holding hands with his Dancing With The Stars partner Emma Slater, she said she was “taken aback” and that it was “hard to see.”

“I don’t know if anything’s happening yet, but obviously there’s something there. Listen, I love him very much, and we are amicable, but that really did hurt me,” she said.

Meanwhile, Mauricio took to Instagram ahead of Tuesday’s episode of DWTS to dedicate that night’s dance to his wife and children.
