Earlier this week, Kristen Bell made headlines for sharing that her kids drink non-alcoholic beer. Now, she’s back in the news for her family’s oh-so-relatable experience at Boston’s Logan International Airport. Get ready to say, “Celebrities! They’re just like us!” OR roll your eyes all the way to the back of your head so you can see the pink of your brains. Your pick.
On Wednesday, Kristen, husband Dax Shepard, their two daughters, and several friends were supposed to catch a flight out of Boston. Unfortunately, their plane was significantly delayed. Kristen Instagrammed a photo of her group sitting at a gate with the caption, “Stranded at the Boston airport, 9 hours of delays.” She also posted a selfie with a toothbrush in her mouth. She captioned it, “We made quite a home here.”
Later, Dax shared a video to his Instagram. It shows Kristen kicking off her shoes as she sets up the family’s makeshift “bedroom”: a bunch of blankets and travel pillows laid out on the airport floor. Dax’s caption explains that his family’s flight had been rescheduled to the next day, and they couldn’t stay at a hotel cuz there were “ZERO vacancies in the greater Boston area.” On a random Wednesday? Hmmm. In the another clip, the couple reveals that they spent upwards of $600 on bedsheets, neck pillows, blankets, etc. Dax says that they could have spent that money on “a really nice hotel,” but, again, “they’re all taken.” HMMMM. In another Instagram Story, Kristen writes that her group “wanted to stay” in the airport, but they were “kicked out.” She says they had to “find a place a stay right AFTER dad had taken his sleep aids.” Don’t worry, these two celebrities and their children managed to find “friends of friends who offered us their attics and accepted us at 1 am!!!!!!” Phew, that was a close one.
Obviously, Kristen and Dax’s fans lapped that sh** up in the comments. Here are some of the highlights: “I love that you guys are just normal f**king people,” “I truly don’t mean to be mean but I didn’t think this stuff happened to rich people,” and, “I love that you’re just… Regular ass people inconvenienced by the same sh** we are.” The official Hilton Instagram account also dropped a comment on Dax’s reel: “Hi Dax! We sent you and Kristen a group DM! [sloth emoji] #HiltonForTheStay”. Shut up, Hilton! These two are trying to seem as relatable as possible, don’t offer them any perks (at least not publicly).
