“I won’t love you if you don’t wear it…” Chilling words when spoken by any partner. But perhaps more so when murmured by a wildling, and when YOU KNOW NOTHING.

In this hilarious chapter of the real life romance between Kit Harington and Rose Leslie, a love forged in the frigid North under a pile of Ikea rugs, we learn that they do normal people things like normal people do. Like go to themed costume parties!

In this case, the party they were invited to was centered around the theme of “bad taste.” And considering Kit once celebrated April Fools’ Day by leaving his own severed head in Rose’s fridge, I’m not surprised she stepped in to guide him in this case.

As Harington recounted it to Heat magazine (as covered by Daily Mail), they went to a costume shop together and the worker who assisted them didn’t seem to recognize him… leading her to offer up a very familiar costume off the rack:

“She pulled out a Jon Snow costume, and Rose just whispered in my ear ‘I won’t love you if you don’t wear it… You should do it.’”

Describing the moment he attended the party, Kit recalled: “It was really embarrassing. The people bringing around canapes were looking at me, thinking, ‘You’re sad man! You’ve come to a party dressed as your character.’”

Look, is there anything in WORSE taste than showing up to a costume party dressed as your own fan-favorite character on the biggest show in the world? I’d say Rose steered him right. And there was no need for any random severed heads this time.

Ah, ain’t love grand?
