Model, entrepreneur, Project Runway host, and wife to a Kushner, Karlie Kloss, just bought i-D magazine, the bimonthly British publication, from Vice Media Group. Kloss led the acquisition with her company, Bedford Media, and will serve as chief executive of the magazine.

Clearly, Kloss has a plans for crafting a media empire. In August of 2020, she led a group of investors—including Jason Blum of Blumhouse Productions, venture capitalist Kirsten Green, and fellow model Kaia Gerber—to acquire W magazine. Editor-in-chief of W and daughter of Les Moonves, Sara Moonves, who got to keep her role, had this to say at the time of acquistion:

“Through our amazing editorial and original content, I’m excited to engage our audience in new ways nad bring new members into the fold as we expand our global footprint across the ever evolving digital media landscape while upholding W’s legacy as the foremost leader in art, culture and fashion.”

If that sounds like a lot of soggy word salad to you, yeah. Same.

A statement from Vice Media Group had nothing but glowing words for Kloss. “Karlie has deep roots in the fashion industry and has established herself as an entrepeneur who has a vision for the futire of i-D and the industry at large,” the statement reads, closing with, “We’ve gotten to know Karlie and her team through this process. She has a deep passion for technology and the intersection of fashion, media, and culture on a global basis, and we believe that the brand is in great hands to continue to build on its important position in the fashion world and to continue the growth trajectory we see for the business.”

Read: she’s aged out of modeling so now she’s going to run some fashion magazines that pose as being about more than fashion. All this art and culture and technology bullsh** is exactly that.
