It seems like every few weeks, the media offers another example of why politicians shouldn’t try to go after comedians. But Trump doesn’t feel like learning. Remember the Modern Family incident, Donald? Why would you do that again?
But he has done that again. This time going after a little known British comedian John Oliver.
In Trump’s defense, he might not have actually started this one. Let’s go to the video.
“I don’t really care about him”?
You could understand why Trump wouldn’t just be able to let this slide. “I don’t care about him” is essentially the greatest insult you could pay to
an egomaniac a politician a crazy fucking egomaniac like Trump.
So when he did fire back, he fired back with the most delicately crafted insult he could come up with.
.@thehill John Oliver had his people call to ask me to be on his very boring and low rated show. I said "NO THANKS" Waste of time & energy!— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) October 31, 2015
Uh- huh. Well we can all agree that that’s disappointing. Luckily Oliver and his team decided to take the high road and not respond thus ending the silly non- feud before it started. No, wait, actually they burned the shit out of him.
A couple of points… 1. Yes, we have a boring show. 2. At no point did we invite Donald Trump to appear on it. https://t.co/qjpg9FLb0V— Last Week Tonight (@LastWeekTonight) November 1, 2015
Ordinarily I’d say that being liked by a large number of people isn’t necessarily a sign of high quality. But since Trump has literally put himself into a popularity contest, I feel a certain satisfaction in the fact the Oliver’s tweet has three times the Favorites as Trump’s. Especially because apparently not caring about Trump is the only thing that Trump cares about.
Oliver then returned to the business of kicking all of the asses.
