Joey Graziadei Apologizes for Mixing Up Gypsy Rose Blanchard and Ruth Bader Ginsburg

Earlier this month, a video of Bachelor star Joey Graziadei playing the “How Online Are You?” game for Betches went viral. Graziadei was shown a picture of Gypsy Rose Blanchard and asked if he knew who she was, to which he replied, “I do know who this person is…is it…Ruth?” as in Bader Ginsburg, then proceeded to botch Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s name a few times and then said he did know Blanchard at least went to jail “because of her mom,” before a producer put him out of his misery.

But misery is boundless when you’re as dumb as this guy. Last week, during an episode of The Bachelor, Grazieadei and his gaggle of girlfriends visited the island nation of Malta, which he said he loved for the “old school vibe.”

Well, it’s been inhabited since 5900 BC, so he’s not wrong.

The good people at the White House didn’t mind his lack of historical knowledge, because for some reason he was invited to visit and take a tour with press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre. In a video of the tour, Jean-Pierre can be seen showing Graziadei various framed photos of…I don’t know, dignitaries? The point is she ended up on a framed portrait of the Super Diva herself, pointing it out to him and quipping, “You say that you’re really good with names…” Does he say that? Who says that? And why?

Graziadei did noticeably hesitate, studying the picture, before letting out a beleaguered, “I’m so sorry.”

“It was a bad time. I knew that that wasn’t actually her in the photo, Ruth came to my mind,” he said defensively, and then showed off his PR training with, “I know how much of a legend she is and how much she’s done for…equal rights and…women empowerment.” He then offered Jean-Pierre a rose for good measure, which she accepted graciously, though she admitted she’d prefer if it came from “a Bachelorette.”
