The friendship between Jennifer Lawrence and Amy Schumer is the gift that keeps on giving. These lovely ladies have given us the kind of vacation shots that make us feel like we were almost a part of that human pyramid. They made “Uptown Girl” cool again. They’re scripting a sisters’ comedy we’ve already developed a mean anticipation cramp over. And now that potential pic has gotten even more promising as a legend who paved the way for both these brassy broads has publicly proclaimed her interest in getting on board.
Amy Schumer & Jennifer Lawrence are co-writing a screenplay about sisters. Hmm, who could play their mother? She'd have to be DIVINE!

That’s right. Bette Midler herself, A.K.A. The Divine Miss M, wants to play their onscreen momma. And really, who could do better? Assuming this Unnamed Schumer/Lawrence Sister Comedy will be a R-rated affair like Trainwreck and Silver Linings Playbook, Midler could slay with some dirty GILF gags.
Lest we forget her alter-ego Sophie Tucker:
And with Midler on board, Lawrence and Schumer (Schawrence? Lumer?) could delve into that chick flick cliche of a random musical number with plenty of panache. Perhaps a tender moment with “Waterfalls?”
Or maybe you want a big brash bad momma? Midler’s got you covered.
Want full on camp? You know Midler can do that.
Excellent. My next mission: a Hocus Pocus reboot starring these three.
Kristy Puchko really would love that reboot.
