Kanye West’s “sorry about the Hitler stuff” non-apology comeback tour continues. Well, sort-of. It turns out that a hell of a lot of countries aren’t wild about letting West beyond their borders and many of his planned gigs are being cancelled. The next country to say “go away”? Italy. And they’re telling Kanye to take Travis Scott with him.

Italian authorities have barred Kanye West and Travis Scott concerts from going ahead, citing public order and security concerns, according to the BBC. Prefect Salvatore Angieri announced on Friday that the two events, due to take place in Reggio Emilia in July, would not take place, following a request from the local Jewish community to cancel West’s gig. West and Scott had been due to perform alongside other artists, including Rita Ora and Swedish House Mafia, but that the risk to security was just too much.

While Travis Scott hasn’t tweeted anything about going “death con 3 on Jewish people” or sold swastika merch, his concerts are notorious for being violent and dangerous events for attendees. 10 people died during his Astroworld festival in Houston in 2021.

West was meant to headline the Wireless Festival in London until the entire event was cancelled after the UK government refused to allow him permission to enter the country. In France, the Marseille leg of his planned tour has been postponed “until further notice” after it was reported that Interior Minister Laurent Nuñez had been looking to ban him. His 19 June concert at the Silesian Stadium in Chorzów, Poland, was also cancelled “due to formal and legal reasons”, the venue said in April.

Kanye’s fans continue to insist he’s paid his dues, which nobody else believes, and certainly, we’ve seen no evidence of all this work he’s claimed he’s doing to repair the damage he did during his years-long antisemitic rants. It really just seems like he was hoping he could go back to selling out arenas without a second thought. And in fairness, he’s done just that in America, with fans and famous friends alike celebrating his return. One wonders if these European concert cancellations are the first kind of tangible consequence he’s experienced in a while.
