It’s been quite a weekend for has-been Saturday Night Live alum. Rob Schneider tried to let you know he has a new show you won’t watch by lecturing about the importance of empathy in comedy. (Shame we can’t really make out what he has to say with his head shoved so far up his own ass.) And Dennis Miller decided to weigh in on Michelle Wolf’s controversial White House Correspondence Dinner set with a zinger. Well, eventually.

My first thought when I saw this tweet was, “Oh. Dennis Miller’s still alive?” Which is not so much a reflection of his age (64, a fact that took two seconds to Google), but more that he’s been wildly irrelevant for so long that his pretentious schtick can now run for office. Proving his own obsolescence, Miller said he needed three business days to research Wolf before mocking her, because I guess maybe he’s using the Encyclopedia Brittanica print edition or Bing. But don’t worry, he’s got an old stand-by in the warmer:

Anyway, Miller’s self-righteousness coupled with his inability to craft a timely joke got him dragged on Twitter by plenty of people who had no problem spinning comedy in seconds.

In response, Miller made the same joke that people had been making about him all day.

Cha cha.
