Chris Brown will not go to jail after pleading guilty to a charge of affray, but he will receive an eight-month prison sentence, suspended for 12 months, as punishment.
For those of you who are having a tough time keeping up with all of the charges of violence that Brown has been accused of, this particular case happened in February 2023 in London. Brown and his vocal coach, rapper Omololu Akinlolu, attacked a man in a nightclub, with Brown striking him in the head with a glass bottle. The court heard Brown’s attack on music producer Abraham ‘Abe’ Diaw left the victim in need of hospital treatment for his injuries.
The sentencing judge (via BBC) said, “The repeated use of a glass bottle in that way, especially aimed at the head, was plainly dangerous, it carried the risk of delivering a more serious injury than was ultimately sustained […] Violence of this kind in a crowded nightclub is serious, it creates an obvious risk, not only to the person against whom it is directed, but also to others nearby.” The judge also said that the singer’s “risk of further offending is low.” Is it?! Have you seen literally everything he’s said and done over the past two decades?
The singer had been due to face a trial on more serious charges, which he denied, and which were subsequently dropped. A victory for Brown, whose legal troubles are so plentiful that they have their own Wikipedia page. It’s been 17 years since he brutally assaulted Rihanna, and since then he’s been involved in SO any cases of violence. His ex-girlfriend Karrueche Tran was granted a five-year restraining order against him in 2017. In 2021, his housekeeper was mauled by his dog, and he fled the scene rather than help her. For that case, he was ordered to pay the victim $13 million. He hasn’t done it yet.
This man is an abject scumbag. Imagine calling yourself a fan of Chris Brown. Loser actions right there.
