Earlier this week, Adele sparked controversy with an Instagram post that showed her wearing Bantu knots and a Jamaican flag bikini top. Stateside, the response was largely side-eying and mockery, while those in the U.K. argued this was not cultural appropriation but appreciation in line with the traditions of the Notting Hill Carnival. Now publicly siding with the latter is Chet Haze.
Tom’s Hanks’ rapper son took to Instagram to show his appreciation for Adele, by rocking out in a vehicle to her song, “Set Fire To The Rain.” After, Haze spoke directly to the camera in a faux Jamaican patois, telling Adele how she enchanted him with her recent pic. Then he asks her to call him.
As for the haters, Haze has a message for them too.
