It started out with a joke, but we should know by now that there are superfans of literally everyone who has ever been in the pop-culture consciousness for any amount of time. Even a heinous (and ugly and uncharismatic) serial killer like Ted Bundy or an insane cult leader like Charles Manson.

It was after this point that people in need of in-depth counseling pulled themselves out of what I can only imagine is a darkened basement or bedroom plastered with crime scene photos and serial killer posters to go full-tilt bonkers on Twitter with their fandom. Luckily, the denizens of Twitter who revel in winding up this sort of thing dipped their toes into the Kool-Aid waters, too. What ensued was yet another cry from humanity declaring our lack of fitness to stand at the top of the food chain.
