So, the Grammys happened last night. Ooft. Look, we’ll get into that mess in another post. How could we not? I’m almost impressed by how the Recording Academy can repeatedly snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. It makes me feel a little better about being way too invested in the Oscars by comparison. But hey, there were a lot of hot people in fabulous outfits, so let’s go there!

Lizzo, winner of Record of the Year, had two gorgeous ensembles. On the red carpet, she went for Midsommar disco with a stunning orange floral cape that revealed a matching corset. I love that her fashion is all about taking up space and dominating the spotlight. To accept her award, she went silver and shiny and gave a wonderful speech.

Beyoncé also went silver in part for her gown. She loves herself a set of elbow-length gloves.

Adele also went for a very classically Adele look, all velvet and cleavage and old-school glamour.

Shania Twain has always radiated immense country camp energy. Remember the ‘That Don’t Impress Me Much’ animal print? Now, she’s in full drag, complete with a red wig and a hat she was definitely hiding some snacks and a bottle in.

Sam Smith and Kim Petras decided to give Tucker Carlson another aneurysm with their fabulous performance and ensemble that included RuPaul’s Drag Race stars Violet Chachki and Gottmik. They drink the tears of their enemies. Also, Kim Petras became the first trans woman to win a Grammy, so good for her.

Doja Cat didn’t manage to top her astonishing Schiaparelli rhinestoned look from fashion week but this custom Versace look was still stunning on her. She’s a fascinating red carpet fixture now.

If I had to pick a favorite outfit, it would be this beautiful blue couture number on Cardi B. The colour! The draping! The sheer craft of it! She knows her fashion.

Bebe Rexha went for roller rink Barbie with classic Farrah Fawcett hair in Moschino. It’s very fun, right down to the giant hoop earrings. Expect to see this entire ensemble in the Greta Gerwig movie this year.

Don’t be surprised if we also see Margot Robbie’s Barbie in this Valentino feathered number as worn by Kacey Musgraves. This looks very cozy and comfy.

The big winner of the night (yup) was Harry Styles, who shocked everyone with his Album of the Year victory. On the red carpet, he went for sparkly harlequin overalls, which is a look that he and only he can ever get away with wearing.

This post can only end with our newest EGOT queen, the one and only Viola Davis. Someone get this woman her Peabody Award so she can reign supreme as the PEGOT!
