You might know Ansel Elgort from The Fault In Our Stars, Baby Driver or (checks notes) Divergent. But this soulful ingedude isn’t just into filmmaking, he’s also into photography. Specifically, he’s super into selfies, which makes him like just about every Instagram user. What sets him apart is that last night, Elgort had a real “feel cute, might delete later” moment when he posted a slew of shirtless selfies to his account in an hour. 17 in total. None with captions.

Here’s some—ugh—highlights? (They all look pretty much the same.)

In Instagram comments and on Twitter, people speculated on what this string of 17 selfies means.

To be clear, it’s not weird that Elgort took 17 selfies. Those of us who understand this fine art form know it requires a lot of shots to get an Insta-worthy one. What’s unusual is posting seemingly every shot, and with very little variation in expression or scenery. But maybe if you’re as handsome as Elgort, there are no bad shots. Every selfie is sacred. Maybe he doesn’t owe us an explanation. Maybe it’s not to be explained, just marveled over. Maybe we are the Warren to his AJ.
