I’m just not sure, guys.

It’s not that it looks bad. And it’s not that it looks like something I wouldn’t enjoy watching. It just looks a lot like something that’s still wholly unnecessary. Wasn’t the point of Breaking Bad to watch one guy’s anti-hero story? Do we need to learn about everyone else too?

And if it were just a matter of having additional scenes with Saul and Mike, I might not be this wary. But learning about what made Mike Mike and Saul Saul could theoretically ruin their characters. Remember when this guy

was just the scariest badass who’d ever lived?

Now how does this make you feel?

What would you give up to forever lose the knowledge that Darth Effing Vader went through an emo period? And do you really want to know how Saul became the glorious son of a bitch he was? Isn’t there a part of you that wants to imagine him shooting out of his mother in the delivery room, and immediately begin taking bets from the nurses? Or that Mike only went to elementary school to act as an enforcer for a disrespected lunch lady? It might be fun to watch Better Call Saul, but I’m in no way convinced it’ll be worth it.
