There I was, browsing Twitter, when I see an advertisement for The Wilson Van playing at a brewery. I squint and, yep, that’s Patrick Wilson. Those other members are his brothers. The Wilson Van began as Van Wilson before the name change in 2012. The brothers also founded The Wilson Family Foundation and their gigs raise money for various people and charities.

Ryan Gosling is in a band called Dead Man’s Bones with screenwriter Zach Shield (Krampus). The duo started playing for pals in 2005 and released an album in 2009. The duo met while dating sisters Rachel and Kayleen McAdams. They bonded over a love of The Haunted Mansion and their songs are like ghost stories. Sung by a children’s choir.

It’s creepy and I like it!

Billy Boyd sings and plays guitar in Beecake. Formed in 2006, the band initially wanted to play around with the limitations of the recording studio, but soon found they enjoyed playing together too much to stop there.

I dig their sound, kids.

John Reilly and Friends is, well, actor Reilly joined by friends onstage. Reilly sings, plays guitar, and brings folk music to the masses via live venues and releases through Jack White’s label, Third Man Records.

Christopher Mintz-Plasse started with band The Young Rapscallions before moving to Bear On Fire, which released an album in 2015. Mintz-Plasse bought a drum kit with the money he earned from his film debut Superbad and then learned bass before Bear On Fire became his main focus.

Natalia Tena (Game of Thrones) is in a band called Molotov Jukebox. Formed in 2014, their newest album is Tropical Gypsy. You can listen to Tena sing and play the accordion.
